Simulation of random wave overtopping by a WCSPH model

In this work the Weakly Compressible SPH-based (WCSPH) model DualSPHysics has been validated and applied to study random wave overtopping of dike-promenade layout in shallow water conditions. Data from physical tests carried out a small-scale flume have used for validation. The results compared terms surface elevation, mean discharges individual volumes distribution. selected geometrical is representative coastal area Premià de Mar, Catalonia (Spain). This stretch coast presents both railways bike path very close shore therefore exposed possible sea storms. For first time an employed reproduce long-lasting tests, made series 1000 irregular waves, which are real states. density diffusion scheme modified Dynamic Boundary Conditions present simulations. By employing standard setup SPH modelling wave-structure interaction problems long duration, stable simulations accurate attained.
